We would like to invite you to take a break here in St. Egidien at our alpaca farm. You can park very close to the alpacas, watch them, get up with them and go to sleep. "ENJOY THE ALPACA VIEW". The animals are used to visitors, come to the fence and greet you with their big googly eyes. We have a 4-sided alpaca farm here and are conveniently located 5 km from the A4 Erfurt-Dresden motorway and 18 km from the A72 Hof-Leipzig motorway. The access road is well developed. In the village there is a confectioner's shop and a butcher's shop with breakfast service. Shopping is possible in the Auersberg-Center 2 km away. Children and dogs are welcome. Dogs have a free run after the railway tunnel. We live here on the Plauen-Dresden railway line, but don't worry, the trains run almost silently these days and if a steam engine comes along, it's quite an event. Nearby there are restaurants in Lichtenstein, Glauchau and Bernsdorf. A children's playground is 400 m away. Excursion destinations are: Oberwald reservoir in Callenberg with summer toboggan run and hiking trail to the Karl May cave, Vorderglauchau and Hinterglauchau castles, Miniwelt Lichtenstein, mining museum in Oelsnitz, Karl May Museum in Hohenstein-Er. and the legendary Sachsenring race track is only 5 km away. If you have some time in your luggage, then booking an alpaca hike or a visit to our alpaca wool farm shop is a great experience. If you stay with us for more than 5 nights, we offer you an alpaca walk for 2 hours at half price (only 12 €/person instead of 24 €). With your bike you can explore the area. For example, you can cycle to Glauchau and then along the Mulden cycle path to Zwickau. Another nice destination is the pottery town of Waldenburg with its castle and Grünefeld Park. St. Egidien has a railway station and you can cycle to the train and then cycle on the train to Zwickau or Chemnitz, Freiberg or Dresden, Oelsnitz or Stollberg. If you are travelling from north to south or from east to west, a stopover with us is ideal to enjoy a little time out! We and the alpacas are looking forward to your visit!
