About me
The Reiger Winery is located in the smallest DAC region in Austria (DAC Eisenberg).
The traditional family business is run by the fourth generation of Martin Reiger as an organic farm (BIO certified since 2012). The excellent wines ripen on the best sites of the Eisenberg. The winery presses everything a wine lover is looking for, fruity white wine, classic red wine, red wine with wood ageing up to the perfect cuvèe in barrique. The 5.5 hectares of vineyards are continuously tended by hand. Gentle pruning, manual defoliation and yield reduction of each individual vine, as well as harvesting by hand, is enormously important at the Reiger winery.
In the near future, the new PIWI (fungus resistant) grape varieties will also be available in the bottle.
These wines are characterised by a better climate balance (less mechanical effort and significantly less plant protection).
Which reflects the organic efforts of the farm.
All these processes take time, but meet the quality demands of Martin Reiger and the connoisseur of "Reiger wines".
