This unique place is the combination of a grassy area where you can park your camper van and set up camp, access to an old historical granary building plus the adjacent park.
The camping area is located behind the old granary, next to a small forest. The camping area is directly overlooking to a local government-owned mansion with a small park with majestic trees. The mansion is under renovation. The park is directly adjacent to the camping area and you have free access to it for your walks, sports activities or campfire. There is a large grassy area in the backside of the mansion for you to play football, throw balls to your dog, watch the birds or fly your drone.
The granary building is about 150 years old and featuring wonderful old stone, brick and wood structures. The main elements are well preserved but it needs extensive renovation. You will receive the keys to the granary so you can use it for whatever purposes you fancy. You can chill, read a book, arts and crafts, listen to music, play an instrument, play board games, do yoga, meditation etc. You will definitely learn to appreciate the place when you will want to hide from the daytime heat or from a summer storm. You can even set up your tent inside the granary and sleep there.
The village itself is a quiet place of about 250 inhabitants located in the middle of an agricultural zone. 20 kms away there is Pápa, a pretty historical town with notable baroque architecture, lovely pedestrian streets, restaurant terraces, the Esterházy castle and a cozy thermal spa. The region is one that is considered quite genuinely local and less affected by tourism.
The area is ideal for bicycle riders and there are also fishing lakes in the area. It is a fantastic place for stargazing due to the low light emission levels of the area - don't forget your telescope at home if you've got one!
